CICS Explorer Temp Stg Bug

A bug was uncovered with CICS Explorer with CICS/TS 4.1, where a request to delete a specific temporary storage queue results in all ts queues being deleted. This has been resolved (APAR IZ65446), but be sure not to use CICS Explorer to delete ts queues if you are running CICS/TS 4.1 until you have confirmed that you have the APAR applied.

Fix for CICS 3.2 CPU Utilization Problem

IBM has issued APAR PK70646 (PTF  UK40779) to address a CPU utilization problem in CICS 3.2. The problem is specific to programs defined as threadsafe that perform DB2 calls and many (non-DB2) filecontrol requests. Such programs were experiencing excessive TCB switches, driving up CPU utilization.

Shops with DB2 running programs defined as threadsafe in CICS 3.2 should check out this maintenance in IBMLink SIS and consider ordering it immediately.
